Prague Cello Quartet

The Prague Cello Quartet (PCQ) is a one-of-a-kind music group from the heart of Europe, made up of four talented and classically trained musicians. Since 2006, they have been bringing a fresh and exciting sound to audiences around the world by combining the beauty of classical music with the energy of pop, rock, film music, and musicals.

Their concerts are full of surprises – from the powerful themes of Game of Thrones and Pirates of the Caribbean or Phantom of the Opera to legendary songs by Queen, Coldplay, U2, and much more. With their own unique arrangements, the group turns every melody into something new and unforgettable.

The group was founded by Jan Zvěřina, a creative cellist with a passion for music and film. His love for both has shaped the quartet’s special sound and visual style. Today, the ensemble includes Jan Zvěřina, Štěpán Švestka, and Michal Haring on cellos, joined by Tomáš Otevřel on double bass – giving the group a rich and powerful sound.

The PCQ has played concerts across Europe, Asia, and South America – including in Japan, South Korea, China, Colombia, and many other countries. Their music videos have millions of views online and are often used in TV shows, dance competitions, and cultural events.

In 2024, they released their sixth studio album, titled START – a bold and colorful collection of songs that reflects the group’s energy and creativity. Over the years, the Prague Cello Quartet has become known not only for its beautiful playing, but also for its sense of humor, its emotional power, and its connection with audiences of all ages.
